For most of our monthly and one-time service offerings it may be necessary to select or add new accounts in QuickBooks Online. When your accountant is categorizing your bank feed transactions a new income or expense account may be added. Your will send you a notification requesting account information that will show up on your client dashboard. You will be able to select an existing account from your chart of accounts list and add a new one.

Some Entry Fields are Required, While Others are Optional

Your accountant creates new accounts within your chart of accounts with the information provided. In order to create new accounts, you should complete all required fields. We also offer a one-time service for a Customized Chart of Accounts. Accounts can be created for liability, asset and equity transactions as well. Below is a list of required fields to add a new account to your chart of accounts.

  • Account Name (Shows Up On Your Financial Reports)

  • Account Type (Drop-Down List of Asset, Liability, Equity, Expense, COGS, Income Account Types)

  • Account Description (For Your Reference)
