If you have selected A/P and Expense Entry Services, your accountant may need to create manual check entries in QuickBooks Online. Your accountant may not have enough information to create manual checks you have written from bank feed transaction data. Copies of manually written checks should be uploaded into a folder within your secure document upload portal. Your accountant will send you a notification requesting manual check information that will show up on your client dashboard. You will enter check information into a form directly within the request.

Some Entry Fields are Required, While Others are Optional

Your accountant will add manual checks with the information provided. In order to create manual checks, you should complete all required fields. Manual checks are added with Bank Feed Categorization and A/P and Expense Entry Services. Below is a list of required fields. Please note that we have listed the expense account, description and amount as a required field. The check could also be for a products and services item which is an optional field. Place an N/A in each expense field if the check is for product and service items and not an operating expense for your business.

  • Check Number

  • Bank Account

  • Payee

  • Payment Date

  • Mailing Address

  • City Name

  • Zip Code (Postal Code)

  • Country Name

  • State Name

  • Expense Account (or Products and Services Item)

  • Expense Description (or Products and Services Item Description)

  • Expense Line Amount (or Products and Services Item Amount)
